Westport Dining

Casa Me

The cucina from which we want to dine daily, weekend brunch, lunch or dinner is Casa Me. From the best spot in Sconset Square to dine al fresco or a cozy bite indoors during the colder months Casa Me brings the old world traditional flavors of Italy to Westport where antipasti, Pinsa Romano (our favorite is the Bufalotta with prosciutto di parma, mozzarella di bufala, cherry tomato, arugula pesto) and house-made pastas are all divine. We always start with a Fritto Misto, thr Burrata with pistachio pesto and the INSALATA DI MARE with chilled octopus, shrimp, mussels, clams, swordfish, cherry tomatoes and citrus EVOO. We always order some of the farm fresh “Verdure,” we’re partial to the RAPINI
broccoli rapa, garlic, calabrian chili and lemon. The Grilled Fish and Meat dishes, like the beloved chicken Milanese and the TAGLIATA DI MANZO a prime hanger steak, french fries and salmoriglio are our favorite secondis.

Terrain Café

Terrain, the stunning garden-centric spot, primarily features dishes from local growers. The line between garden center and restaurant is blurred and seasonally changing brunch, lunch, and dinner menus featuring hand-selected local produce, meats, and dairy. Seasonally-inspired dishes are carefully crafted with products from local farmers like Arethusa Dairy Farm in Litchfield, CT, High Ridge Hydro in Norwalk, CT, Gilbertie’s Farm in Easton, CT, the Westport Farmers Market in Westport, CT and Mystic Cheese Co. in Groton, CT. We love the Harvest Bowl with quinoa, spicy kale falafel, seasonal vegetables, crispy chickpeas, tahini vinaigrette and always add a protein and the Smoked Salmon Toast with crème fraîche spread topped with crispy capers, dill, beet relish and everything bagel seasoning on sourdough. While the cafe is open for dinner as well, we’re partial to lunch

The Blondinit

The highly-anticipated new Israeli eatery The Blondinit is the sweetest spot in town. The new Mediterranean spot was filled this evening with excited locals getting a sneak peek of their traditional Israeli food lovingly presented by husband and wife duo Solomon and Inda Sade.

The powder pink walls are punctuated with tropical wallpaper and a meaningful piece of artwork. The framed Hebrew Chai, a symbol of vitality, and often associated with good luck we know will bring this new Westport restaurant good fortune. Earlier in the day, Temple Israel Senior Rabbi Michael S. Friedman performed a mezuzah ceremony on the restaurant’s doorpost to bring blessings to all who pass.

“We are excited to bring Israeli food to the ones that are familiar with it but have no option in the Westport area, and even more excited to introduce new diners to the tastes of Israel,” shares Inda.

The Cottage

Brian Lewis, Chef and Owner of Full House Hospitality Group and his team have created two beloved restaurants, the first in Westport and the most recent on Greenwich Avenue, known for simple and welcoming New England-inspired  modern American dishes. A meal at The Cottage is always a perfectly executed crescendo of flavors. From a beet-cured hamachi crudo or wagyu beef tartare followed by a second course of potato ricotta gnocchi with burgundy black truffles or a duck roasted in coriander, wagyu ribeye au poivre, chanterelle mushroom risotto or seared dayboat scallops everything is utterly irresistible for lunch or dinner. We’re thrilled that the Greenwich locale recently started lunch service on Mondays. For brunch our faves are no doubt the waffles with apples, classic bao buns, shrimp and grits and shakshuka are divine and do not even think about leaving without the crispy rice with scallops.

The Whelk

There is nothing more alluring during the spring and summer season than lunch or dinner on the Saugatuck River. The Whelk, without a doubt, has the best waterfront views perfect for a tin platter overflowing with crushed ice and local oysters. The sustainable seafood and locally-sourced selection helmed by James Beard Award-nominated chef and owner Bill Taibe highlights raw and chilled oysters and clams and fish dishes like cod, whole trout and striped bass. Their smoked trout dip is a must (pro tip, get one to go in a glass ball jar, we’re never without one in our house).
