Wilton Dining

Baldanza at The Schoolhouse

Arguably the best brunch we have had in Fairfield County. From truly the crispiest calamari we have had since a seaside experience in Italy, to the perfectly and chicly portioned pancakes and the most divine fried chicken sandwich, we could have ordered everything on the menu. Good thing it’s super close to The Connecticut Edit headquarters. It’s now on repeat for brunch, lunch and dinner. The locally sourced ingredients and the passion and professionalism from family run ownership team is magical. Sitting on the water in a former schoolhouse it is just really a special spot. It’s all about an elevated experience in a community-centric environment using local purveyors like New Wave Seafood in Stamford and Ambler Farms in Wilton.

Parlor

We discovered Parlor first through their pizza truck and it was the best slice we had since we moved to Fairfield County. When we discovered their brick-and-mortar locale was super close to The Connecticut Edit’s home base we new we had found our new spot for ‘za. Their classic artisanal Neapolitan style pizza is charred, crisp and just the right amount of dough-y. They serve the classics, and it’s some of the best pepperoni we’ve had yet, and seasonal inspired pies too. If you're having a party, reserve their pizza truck!

Rise Doughnuts

While not a restaurant per se it is impossible to discuss the culinary scene in Wilton without a special call out for Hugh Magnum (et famille’s) Rise. Their doughnuts and fritters are iconic at this point, served fresh out of the oven, just drizzled or dipped with their icing. With daily flavors likes Aztec Cinnamon, Brown Butter Vanilla Bean Chocolate Buttercream and Lemon Poppyseed they are displayed on chic racks and the shop closes once they sell out, which happens pretty quickly on the weekend. The loveliest staff is there to help and move the line along that always snakes out the door. No one seems to mind, the assumption is the action happens around 7AM when they open (Monday-Friday) or 8AM on weekends. Few buy a single, most customers fill a box, sometimes two. Their coffee is top notch too, we love their brew from Folk City Coffee Roasters.
