Q+A

How would you define the Camden Grace style?

Every project is unique because each client wants a different vibe - our designs range from streamlined and modern to moody and classic. There’s no way we could pick just one style - we’re creatives at heart. We’re known for mixing, layering and blending styles and eras - when you do that, your home never goes out of style!

Tell us about your team.

The firm is composed of 7 women who understand the challenges of designing with family in mind. At the beginning of every project we ask clients a lot of questions. Before we dig into the design, we know how they want to use the space and their challenges. Then we design holistically, selecting everything from furniture to lighting, stair runners to window treatments and ensure it all works together. At the end of every project, we offer styling which clients love; we hang art, arrange items on bookcases and add finishing touches.

What are some standout CT projects?

We just designed a ship - in a basement. It was our whackiest, coolest project yet. When you’re down there, you feel like you’re in the hull of a ship. We also just finished a whole first floor renovation where we mixed patterns and textures and incorporated lots of original art - the final product feels very much like a home that has been collected over time - it has soul.

Where are some projects beyond CT?

We do many second homes; beach towns are popular. We just finished a project on the ocean in Westport, MA that has an airy beach vibe. We’re working on a cozy ski house in VT, a weekend home in Santa Rosa, CA and a house in Park City, UT.

 What’s exciting you right now?

We have two whole-home gut renovations nearing completion - both families have school age children. One has a dramatic 3 story entry and we hung paprika-colored grasscloth that makes the white woodwork pop- we pushed the client outside her comfort zone and now it’s her favorite space!
