Meet Cashmira and Tanzie aka Cashu and Tan, the beloved mother-daughter duo behind Elephant Green Chili Chutney. They have captured us with their heart and spice! We were thrilled to join the duo for their exclusive launch at Double L Market  in Westport with co-owners Lloyd and Gianna. 

 

Product premiers are rare indeed at Double L Market but they fell in love with their game-changing chutney, and the dynamic duo behind it, and so did we. 

 

The duo has been perfecting their signature item for over a decade which kicked off when Cashu (a former recipe columnist, culinary enthusiast and talented home chef) was persuaded by Tan (an economics-driven foodie on a mission to share her mom’s chutney mojo) to bring their cherished green chutney to every table.

 

Their delectably addictive chutney, made from simple clean ingredients, is inspired by Cashu’s culinary adventures in New York City, her Indian roots, and her family and friends’ obsession with this secret blend. Its versatility is boundless, effortlessly enhancing or adapting to almost any culinary creation, making it a kitchen essential.

 

From holiday ideas for Chanukah, think serving it on a latke to innovative ways to excite a brisket to a dollop on top of a simple piece of grilled salmon, herewith, a beautiful portfolio of ideas. We’ve had it whipped with cream cheese on a bagel, used as a new dip idea to serve with shrimp cocktail and swirled in with avocado for a fresh take on guacamole. Honestly we loved them all.

 

Their mission is clear yet profoundly heartfelt: to share their passion for vibrant flavors and wholesome food, making every cook’s journey, across cultures, just a little easier and a lot more zesty.
