Miku x Filling in the Blanks hosted by The Connecticut Edit

IMG_5076.heic

For two years running in November of 2022 and 2023 we created a mini menu at Greenwich-based Japanese restaurant Miku in partnership with Norwalk-based Filling in the Blanks and organization whose mission it is to fight childhood hunger by providing weekend meals to those in need.  The dishes, with names inspired by the work Filling in the Blanks included rolls with names like Weekend Meal Program and Mobile Pantry. 100% of the proceeds from our menu goes directly to the organization and was heavily promoted by both the restaurant and us.

The dishes, with names inspired by the work Filling in the Blanks included:

- Weekend Meal Programs: a sushi roll with yellowtail, jalapeño, cream cheese topped with toro, crispy purple sweet potato and truffle oil.
- Mobile Pantry: A cold appetizer with Japanese sponge cake, wagyu, uni and cocktail onions.
- In School Pantries: A dessert with strawberry vanilla mousse.
