Inside The Art of the Clash on Pub day

There are books you read… and then there are books that instantly change the mood of your home. Today we’re celebrating the launch of The Art of the Clash (Gibbs Smith), and trust us, it’s exactly the burst of character and color we could all use a little more of right now.

When New Canaan-based Sophie von Oertzen Williamson hand-delivered a copy to our home, it didn’t even make it past the entry before landing front and center on the coffee table, topped immediately with a riot of rainbow blooms. Because that’s the kind of joy this book calls for. Bold, layered, personal, and completely unapologetic.

Created by local interior designer Sophie von Oertzen Williamson, with beautiful photography by Andrea Ceraso, this book is a love letter to spaces that feel lived in, collected, and full of life. It’s not about perfection, it’s about personality. About the magic that happens when things shouldn’t go together… but somehow absolutely do.

This morning, we’re getting a very special behind-the-scenes look, attending an intimate breakfast celebrating the launch, think a formal European table setting, flowers, and all the layered details Sophie does best. It’s a private gathering (we know… we’re thrilled too), but don’t worry—we’ll be sharing a little VIP peek into her world soon.

Want in on the celebration? You can meet Sophie in person.

She’ll be a featured author at Elm Street Books in New Canaan for Independent Bookstore Day on April 25, mark your calendars and come say hello, grab your copy, and get inspired.

The Art of the Clash, just dropped.

Pick up your copy, embrace the mix, and get ready to see your space in a whole new way.
