Now open in Ridgefield, Make-Modern Studio is the fourth, and perhaps most exciting, chapter for founder Erika Allen, who launched the concept in Darien in 2020 with a clear vision: creativity should feel elevated, intentional, and worth keeping.

In a world of constant scrolling, Make-Modern Studio is an invitation to go analog, most beautifully. Think thoughtfully designed projects, beautiful materials, and a space that encourages you to slow down, focus, and actually finish something with your hands.

What began as a single studio has quickly grown into a cult-favorite across Fairfield County, with locations in Darien, Greenwich, Westport, and now Ridgefield. Step inside and you’ll find sewing machines humming, needlepoint in progress, and a warm, welcoming energy that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile.

The programming is as thoughtful as the aesthetic: 6-week class semesters for kids and adults, camps, parties, craft & sip nights, and visiting artist workshops, all designed to build real skills while keeping things social, creative, and genuinely fun.
