A Self Built Flower Stand Just In Time For Spring

Tucked into a backyard in Weston, something special has been quietly blooming and launches this April.
Black Shack started as an experiment by Meghan Byrnes-Borderan and Olivier Borderan after leaving NYC for a slower, more hands-on life. What began with a few ideas has grown into rows of specialty tulips, beekeeping, maple syrup, and a whole lot of trial and error, much of it unfolding around a small black shed that gave the project its name.
Now, that experiment is opening to the public!
Their self-built flower stand (crafted by Meghan and her son Alistair) launches at the end of Richmond Hill Road and will be stocked daily through tulip season. Expect carefully grown, hand-harvested stems and unique varieties that feel far more considered than your average bouquet.
It’s the kind of place we’ll help you discover, and you’ll make a point to return to.
Preorders are open at blackshackct.com, and you can follow along on Instagram @blackshackct for what’s blooming. They’ll also be popping up at Ecofest at Lachat Town Farm on May 3.
We’re so excited to watch this business bloom!
