In this edition of MEET THE FOUNDER, DOTTIE’S Arvia Few chats with us one-on-one about her game-changing platform which is making a major impact connecting Black people socially and romantically.

Five Questions With Arvia Few…

 

1. Tell us the mission behind Dottie?

 

The pandemic, online dating apps, and evolving cultural norms have only amplified the challenge for connection. In 2021 I became a certified matchmaker and 

founded DOTTIE. The state of black families, marriages, and opportunities for wealth creation are at a critical crossroads and I’m determined to be part of the solution! 

 

2. You discuss finding partners who are eligible, available and date with intention. What does that mean? 

 

We dedicate ourselves to building a carefully curated community of like-minded individuals who are genuinely committed to forging meaningful connections and finding their lifelong partner. At our events we create space for genuine connection. Everyone feels at ease, knowing they’re among others who are single and intentional about dating. It’s a relaxed, low-pressure fun environment where people can let their guard down and truly connect.

 

3. What are some of your greatest success stories?

 

After our events, dates naturally unfold, and many of the connections have lead to ongoing relationships.

 

4. What’s next for Dottie?

 

In May, I became a Science-based Relationship and Dating Coach. In addition to my matchmaking services and events, this fall, I will be offering virtual group classes where both men and women will come together in a shared space. It will be a fun, safe and collaborative environment designed to foster understanding and connection while addressing the complexities of modern dating. It’s a one-of-a-kind course I’ve been designing all summer and I’m super excited for the launch!
